Hi Pam,

As a veteran myself, I would rather have daisies in my weaponry than be forced to use it.

Contrary to appearances the last few years, military force is not the answer to everything, but "if you're a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail." Throughout history, the American philosophy of war is that it should be a last resort, then when you must go in, you go in to win.

It is ordinary Americans of every sort who agree to serve on warships like the WISCONSIN, and one can honor that service, even "treehuggers." :) Thanks for visiting....

Confession: Although I am a treehugging peace sign making daisies in the rifles kinda gal, I find military sites totally fascinating. I just about blew a gasket when we visited the submarine at Pearl Harbor, so excited and intrigued was I. When you walk around those big ships and try to picture them filled with crew, wow, the mind just boggles. And it's always good to have the opportunity to get a tiny peek into what life is like for our servicemen and women.
