On the topic of regional final sites, you may not want to build a trip around this, but if you're in the area of a regional final, there's a good way to get cheap tickets to the final (Elite 8) game. Wait outside the arena after one of the regional semifinal (Sweet 16) games lets out. Because fans must buy tickets for both the regional semifinal and final together, the losing school's fans (usually easy to spot, for obvious reasons) will be stuck with a regional final ticket they may no longer want. So, some disappointed fans are usually willing to part with their tickets cheap. I wouldn't try this beyond a regional final, though. In my experience, this plan doesn't work at the Final Four, because the final is a hot ticket regardless of which schools are playing.
