The Need for Speed

Top Fuel dragster driven by Hillary Will (courtesy Les Welch Photography)I’m off to the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Spring Nationals drag races this weekend near Houston, Texas.

Sure, you can take your kid to the drag races, but I’m solo this time.

Assignments include my normal blogging work for Fast Machines, plus women-oriented articles for Edmunds.com and their blog The Driving Woman.

Unlike NASCAR, there are lots of women in drag racing (thank you, Shirley Muldowney.)

In NASCAR, the biggest woman right now is somebody’s wife — actress Ashley Judd is married to driver Dario Franchitti.

Big deal. NASCAR needs a door-buster like Muldowney. Not that I’m somewhat biased….

I’m also working on some new stuff for the fabulous career advice Web site, Brazen Careerist.

Back to work next week, although Monday’s normal linkpost may run late. Thanks!
