Twitter Lists of family travel bloggers

Those of you who are on Twitter may wonder how you can find other “tweeple” who enjoy travel and like to tweet about it.   The “Find People” search function on Twitter is notoriously inaccurate,  so finding like-minded travel fans is not always a simple task.

A recent feature, Twitter Lists, makes it a lot easier to find all kinds of interesting folks on Twitter, grouped by topic area.

The right sidebar of your Twitter profile now shows the Lists that you’ve made, and which lists include your Twitter name.

To help sort the ever-growing List pile, take a look at Listorious, a searchable database of Twitter Lists. Here’s a whole page of travel Lists on Listorious.

For a few more ideas specific to this blog’s topic….

***  The Family Travel Twitter List from Glennia at the Silent I

***  The Family Travel Twitter List from SoulTravelers3

***  The Family Travel Twitter List from Fodors Travel

***  The Family Travel Twitter List from UpTake

I’m sure I’ve missed some since these change by the minute, and there is some duplication across these Lists, but if there’s ever any doubt that people who blog about travel with kids are also active on Twitter, you just send ‘em right here!

(Update:  thanks to the comment below from Susan, I’m reminded to say that you can find me on Twitter as @SheilaS.  I also tweet for my social media training/membership site @TourismCurrents plus local group @FreelanceAustin.)

I haven’t had a chance to get into twitter yet. This new list feature sounds really interesting though. The idea of being able to find a list of great family travel bloggers that I can share my thoughts and ideas with sounds fantastic!

Great collection of Twitter lists Sheila! They really are a work in progress for me as I have been adding them as I can as we travel. Looks like I can find some more from all of these sources! Thanks so much for including us!

That is a great list! The Twitter lists has made it much easier for me to connect with other traveling families - and I’ll be sure to add all the tweeps from all your lists!

Hi Budget Travel Blogger - glad you liked it.

Hi soultravelers3 - That’s one of the things i like; you can keep refreshing them.

Hi Family On Bikes - It’s always good to find others with similar interests, although there aren’t many doing so much cool stuff on two wheels as you guys!

Thanks for this post. I knew the Twitter lists would come in handy at some point. We are a family that travels to our home in Costa Rica for 3 mos. in the winter so I will be adding a lot more posts when we get there. I’d like to find other families like ours & the list will help me with that. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing these terrific lists Sheila. It’s amazing how quickly Listorious was launched and populated! Are you on Twitter? Give yourself a plug if you are. I’ll try to search you out and follow.

Thank you. Twitter lists have replaced rss subscriptions as my preferred means of discovering information of value. Great lists.

Hi Clark, Glad you liked it!

Hi Susan (and anyone else) - Sure, I’m @SheilaS on Twitter. I’ll go add it to the post as well.

Hi Traci, Thanks for stopping by - it’s a cold day in central Texas today so Costa Rica sounds pretty good. :)
